My 9 days 7 nights in China - Day 1&2

大家好! I supposed that most of my close friends knew I went China for a 9 days 7 nights trip, and I just got a few days ago.

Day 1(1 Dec 2009):
Excited!! Around 8.30pm, on the way to KLIA, it's my first time taking flight at KLIA!! Our flight was 1.40am, so we had our dinner at McDonald's in KLIA before boarding.

Taking MAS's flight is way different from Air Asia's. As all of us knew, the meals we had on the plane are F.O.C. Additionally, they gave every passenger a headphone, and you can watch or listen to musics/movie in many languages (including Korean=)).

See, how delicious my meal=) With buns, dessert, salad, drinks, chocolates++

Day2 (2 Dec 2009):
Finally we had arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport around 6.30am. It's already a bright day at that time in China. After claiming our luggage, our China tour guide had already waiting us at the arrival hall. Then, waited our bus at the parking lot. And, my mouth started to have smoke coming out when I spoke. It's soooo cold, but kinda cool=P

Headed to our first destination, City God Temple (城隍庙) for breakfast. At first, I really thought that we are going to eat in something like temple, but I'm wrong. Today the "City God Temple" not only refers to the large temple complex, but also the traditional district of commerce in the city, surrounding the temple. There are over a hundred stores and shops in this area, and most of these store buildings are nearly a century old.

Had Dim Sum for breakfast, as the tour guide said that it is a popular food there. Plus, it's very very cold outside, and we need to get indoor and have some hot tea.
According to the tour guide, these old folks likes to gather around here in the morning to sing and entertain themselves.

Along the street in China, there are lots of bicycles parked beside. In China, they don't have motorcycles, only the police(公安) will have to reduce pollution.

Our next stop was Nanjing Road (南京路) for shopping=) These road was a bust shopping street along both side and the whole street was quite long. The whole street was largely pedestrianised.
I came to know that Pizza Hut's Chinese name. Funny=P
It's lunch time before we went for shopping again in a place which sells imitation products. I bought a imitate Prada too=)
Then dinner. After that, we went for a cruise ride along the Hung Pu River (黃浦江). Water of the river is quite polluted but I get to know that China's citizens get most of their drinking water from this river. Eww~
This is our cruise with a name 金燦燦 and the view inside.

The scenery for the Shanghai night was beautiful with all the lightning from every buildings. But the pictures I took was not that nice, because it's windy and misty, causing the pictures a bit blur. That was the Oriental Pearl Tower (東方明珠塔) in the picture below.
The deck on the cruise was a open air place with musics and colourful lights, just like disco. It's super super cold up there with strong wind blowing around.

After the cruise ride, we went to visit the super tall Shanghai World Financial Centre (上海環球金融中心), consists of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls on the ground floors . We took a lift up to the 94th floor(423m), the observation deck. It's a bit uncomfortable with the pressure when the lift is going up.
The mascot--海寶 for Expo 2010 Shanghai China (2010上海世界博览会) are sold everywhere.
There are also mailing service on the 94th where you can buy their postcard and send it there. Cool=)

I also found out that there is one toilet with windows where you can watch the scenery from the 94th floor while you are doing "business"=P I tried that too~
The landscape of Shanghai done by mosaics.
Temperature drop eve more at night. It's very very cold outside, but I saw some couple shooting for their wedding photos. The bride was wear it sleeveless gown. Impressive!!

Then, the last destination of the day, Xin Dian Di Street (新天地), the famous entertainment streets. This place is the night life of Shanghai with pubs, cafes, etc around the place and just like Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong.
We also went for a drink in one of the pub there before we went back to our hotel. We sat outside because the inside of the pub are full. And, this is the heater for the guest who are sitting outside the pub. It really warmed us.
I ordered a fruit punch without ice of course, and I think the name was Hawaiian Sunset, combination of orange and lemon.

And, that's was my first day in China. Feeling good=)
