My 9 days 7 nights in China - Day 4

We headed to the oldest temple in Suzhou, Hanshan Temple (寒山寺).
Hanshan Temple is famed in East Asia because of the poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" (楓橋夜泊),

月落烏啼霜滿天,
漁火對愁眠。
姑蘇城外寒山寺
夜半鐘聲到客船。

The word "楓"in the poem meant 楓橋(as in the photo). 寒山寺is this temple. And, that is the reason why this place is so popular now.

Those this poem sounds familiar??

Yea, I think it's one of the 名句精華.=]

The ringing of the bell at Hanshan Temple on Chinese New Year eve is a major pilgrimage and tourism event for visitors from these countries. On that time, the tickets for seats to listen to the bell ringing can cost thousand over dollars.

Then, we visited Suzhou largest silk factory. And, we were told the process of making silk.

After lunch we travel by bus again for 3 hours to Nanjing. The temperature here was even colder. After we have arrived at Nanjing, we visited the Yangtze River Bridge (南京長江大橋). It is a double decker bridge with a 4 lane road and a railway. Amazing=]
Today was the best dinner along this trip. We had buffet dinner in a hotel before we went shopping again at Nanjing.
There's opera performance during our buffet=]

There more about Nanjing coming up next=) To be continue.......
